The Silent Clause Trap
The words stay. The meaning moves. Nobody tracks a change that was never tracked, so you sign the second contract believing it is the first.
Contract intelligence for law firms and in-house legal teams. SAMVIDENT reviews and redlines in Word, gives a reason for every change, and remembers every agreement after you sign.
Understanding is
the real advantage.
A contract is a system of promises, permissions and consequences. One sentence can alter the effect of another, twenty pages away.
SAMVIDENT’s approach starts with that relationship. What does the clause do? What does it depend on? What changes for your client?
Every clause is an element with known bonds. Strand one: what it is. Strand two: what it holds. The red rung is 11.2 to 14, the bond the other side broke.
Follow one change from the text
to the decision it demands.
The words stay. The meaning moves. Nobody tracks a change that was never tracked, so you sign the second contract believing it is the first.
It says low risk. It cannot say why. You sign on faith in a model that has never been to law school, and you cannot defend the decision afterwards.
Four disciplines in the
SAMVIDENT platform vision.
The contract is the source. The lawyer is the decision-maker.

Designed around the work product
the lawyer must own.
Identify the issue, preserve the original wording and put the proposed amendment alongside its rationale. The reviewer should be able to follow what changed and why.
For the illustrated data-loss exception, the decision might concern the general cap, a separate cap or an approved escalation. The appropriate wording depends on the complete allocation.
A specialist examines a defined question, retrieves the relevant provisions and records the basis of its proposal. A handoff should carry the source and unresolved issues with it.
The goal is a reviewable chain of work: no invisible leap from an extracted phrase to an approved position.
An approved position needs its conditions, fallback, escalation owner and version. The same clause can require a different response for a different party or transaction.
Keep the playbook, the matter instructions and counsel’s decision together so the next reviewer can understand the choice.
Source language → reasoned amendment → review in Word → authorised decision.
The clause being examined.
The provisions that change its effect.
The rule that belongs to the matter.
Sending more text is a choice. Selecting the necessary text is a discipline.
A contract question may require the full agreement, or a carefully selected set of connected provisions. The skill lies in knowing which context the decision needs, and recognising when that context is incomplete.
SAMVIDENT’s organising idea is to preserve structure and trace dependencies before asking for a conclusion. Retrieval must be checked for missed definitions, exceptions and cross-references.
{{cqFormula}}
Assumptions: a 60-page agreement; a one-time 60-page read; then 6 page-equivalents per question. Equal text density assumed. This compares context volume, not measured SAMVIDENT usage, token charges or cost savings. At one question, the initial-read scenario uses more context.
An agreement should leave behind more than a signed file.
Keep the approved position with its source, the reason it was accepted and the conditions attached to it. Connect obligations with their owners and decisions with the context that made them appropriate.
This is the legacy SAMVIDENT envisages: knowledge that the next team can question and reuse within the right permission boundaries, with counsel responsible for applying it to the next matter.
For work with real consequences, intelligence must be accountable to the people who use it.
The SAMVIDENT principlesEarly access is private. Four small steps. Under a minute. The desk listens as you answer, matches the brain to the problem, and a person replies within a day.
What is the one contract that keeps you up at night?
Answer that, and the desk tells you which part of SAMVIDENT it points to, what we would ask you next, and how the first brain is priced against what that contract already costs you.
